Bring Chivalry Back

Bring Chivalry Back

Bring Chivalry Back. Bring Chivalry Back.  Now that you've had the opportunity to reminisce and get back to those happy feelings of first meeting and getting to know your loved one, let's talk about chivalry! Today I challenge you to bring chivalry back.  Chivalry is alive! Chivalry is simply courteous behavior.  It also includes courage, honor, loyalty, and consideration for your loved one.  Typically when we first met our loved one we were very courteous and then somewhere over time we allowed some things to fall by the wayside. Today I challenge you to bring chivalry back and to enhance it.

Gentlemen open her car door; ladies reach over and open his (even when he forgets to open yours).  Hold hands with your loved one, dance with your loved one, and make each other first in your lives.  When was the last time you held hands with your loved one? When is the last time you danced together? (Dancing at home together counts too!) Be loyal with one another, keep your word, do not cheat, be respectful, and do not do anything that would show disloyalty to your loved one. Only make promises you can keep, compliment each other, show your loved one signs of affection in private & in public and express your feelings with your loved one. Men open doors for your woman, let her go first when entering a room, pull out her chair, let her order first, share your umbrella, walk on the outside of the sidewalk, and give her your coat when it's cold. There are many acts of chivalry, please consider the above as a starting place and not an exhaustive list.

Chivalry goes a long way.  Let's get back to all of those wonderful things we did and said about our loved one in the beginning. Today pick up where you left off and treat your loved one like the person you fell in love with when you first met.  Don't allow a busy life, excuses, and comfort to stop you from doing the things you once did with your loved one.
